All Colorado horse rescues, equine organizations, and veterinarians are eligible to apply for a CUHA At-Risk Grant. These grants are to be used for one-time, emergency situations only. They are not intended to be part of an organization’s long-term plans for sustainability.

At-Risk Grants may be used for:

  • Emergency hay
  • End of life/euthanasia
  • Gelding
  • Farrier services (not routine maintenance care of feet)
  • Emergency medical care, including teeth floating (not routine maintenance care of teeth), laceration repair, de-wormer, or other emergency medical intervention for horses at risk of becoming unwanted
