Arrangements must be made for the removal of horse remains following death. If the horse dies at a hospital or is euthanized by a veterinarian, the remains are to be disposed of within the State’s legal statues and legal regulations. If the owner does not follow local statues, he or she may unintentionally cause legal problems and incur fees and violations. Carcass disposal must be done in a manner that does not cause harm to other animals or humans.
